We’ve arrived! Our first ‘Port of Call’ of 2021. What with Covid and flooding on the Saône, Aleau couldn’t start doing what she was built to do until late July. A disappointment but compared to how others have suffered this year, we can’t complain.
Now that we’re here, we can attach the canvas and raise the Bimini – and then sit in the shade under it and enjoy a meal.
Of course, being in Dijon means dining out, too. Place de la Libération, opposite Palais des Ducs, has many restaurants.
For my birthday, Jeannie chose a Michelin-starred restaurant, Loiseau des Ducs. I didn’t feel comfortable taking photos – but you can find some on the restauant’s website.

By the time dinner was over, the sun had set on the Palais des Ducs. It didn’t take away any of the beauty.
