After two nights in Seurre – sleeping on Aleau, of course – we resumed our journey south on the Saône. Massive commercials were there to keep us company.
One of the reasons we bought Aleau was so we could set our own schedule. No worries about having to arrive somewhere by a certain date and time because we had made (and paid for) hotel reservations. If we didn’t like where we were, we could cast off and go somewhere else. If we liked where we were, we could end up staying days. Spontaneity and serendipity became our mantra.
So, 28-kilometres south of Seurre, we decided to tie up in Gergy.
It was a tight spot – but we squeezed in. (I’d like to say I’m getting better at this – but I don’t want to jinx myself.)
Gergy was yet another charming town. Population 2,500.
Dinner was served in a restaurant sitting almost directly above Aleau (just a few inches to the left of that giant “arm” in the second photo from the top) .
